Getting Here
By Air
The closest airport to Niseko is the Sapporo - Chitose Airport which is situated near Sapporo.
If you are flying internationally it is recommended to try and fly directly to Sapporo - Chitose Airport. This is
because the Tokyo international airport, Narita, is 90 minutes away from the domestic airport, Haneda, where you
catch most connecting flights to Sapporo. If you can’t avoid Tokyo please check with your travel agent regarding
which airport you will be connecting to your domestic flight. JAL do offer some connecting flights to Sapporo from
the Tokyo international airport.
We recommend travelling via Osaka if you can’t fly directly to Sapporo. Skymark Airlines, JAL, ANA, and Airdo are
the domestic flight carriers in Japan.

By Bus or Train
Bus
This is the recommended method of getting to Niseko from the airport. The bus leaves directly from the airport and
drops you in the middle of Niseko Grand Hirafu village where we will be waiting to pick you up.
The 2 main companies that service Niseko by bus are Chuo and Donan. The bus check-in counters are just 20 metres
away from the JAL arrivals area and have English speaking staff. For a return trip it costs around ¥4,500 ($60 AUD)
and ¥2,500 ($35 AUD) for a one-way trip.
The trip is around 2.5 hours with a refreshments and toilet break along the way. The busses are large coaches and
easily fit all of your ski gear whilst being very comfortable.

Train
Train is the second best method of getting to Niseko (Kutchan is actually the closest station to the lodge). The
downsides are that you usually have to change trains in Otaru which can have a waiting time anywhere from 10 to 60
minutes and storing ski gear on the train can be difficult. The standard train usually costs around ¥2,500 ($35 AUD)
one way to Kutchan.
